Trinity Sports Holdings, whose minor league baseball interests include principal ownership stakes in the Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals in the Pacific Coast League) and Williamsport Crosscutters (Class-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies in the New York-Penn League), has expanded into soccer through its acquisition of a United Soccer League franchise in Memphis, Tennessee that will commence play in 2019.

The USL team has been organized and is led by principal owner Peter Freund, with the St. Louis Cardinals partnering as a minority owner. Fred Sanders and Adam Stein of CTSW served as counsel to Trinity Sports Holdings in negotiating its franchise agreement with the USL, as well as agreements between the franchise and Tim Howard, goalkeeper and captain of Major League Soccer’s Colorado Rapids.
