Leo L. Esses has been a member of the firm’s litigation department since the firm’s inception in January 2000. His practice focuses on complex business litigation in which he represents clients in a variety of industries, including finance, manufacturing, retail, insurance, construction, real estate and aviation. Leo also has extensive experience litigating cases involving disputes relating to contracts, business torts, federal and state employment (Fair Labor Standards Act), discrimination, trademark and unfair trade practice and false advertising. Mr. Esses appears on behalf of clients in federal, bankruptcy, and state courts throughout the country, as well as before various administrative tribunals and agencies.
Over the years, Mr. Esses has also developed extensive experience in the liquidation business, and represents some of the largest liquidation companies in the country. Leo counsels both liquidation companies and companies in distress on, among other things, the various and often complex state, county and city laws regarding the conduct of going out of business and store closing sales, including such sales conducted in bankruptcy. Mr. Esses also counsels clients on crisis management and prevention.
